The new concrete curb provides a clean, professional finish to our drive-thru lane. It’s built to withstand heavy daily traffic while ensuring customer safety and building protection. The broom finish adds great slip resistance and a high-quality look!
This project involved the installation of a heavy-duty concrete curb to define the drive-thru lane and provide a protective barrier for the building structure.
- Layout and Excavation: The drive-thru path was precisely marked according to the architectural site plan. Existing asphalt was cut and removed where necessary to create a solid base for the new curb.
- Formwork and Reinforcement: Custom formwork was installed to ensure smooth transitions between straight and curved sections. Reinforcement was integrated to ensure the curb can withstand repeated vehicle impacts and heavy traffic loads.
- Concrete Pouring and Shaping: High-strength commercial-grade concrete was poured and meticulously shaped. The top edges were rounded (radiused) to prevent tire damage and ensure proper water drainage.
- Broom Finish Application: A professional broom finish was applied to the surface. This creates a non-slip texture for safety and provides a clean, uniform aesthetic that matches standard commercial exterior finishes.
- Curing and Site Cleanup: The concrete was allowed to cure to reach its maximum structural PSI. Following the removal of forms, the surrounding asphalt joints were cleaned and finished for a seamless transition.
