- Anchor Bolt and Sill Plate Installation: Pressure-treated sill plates are precisely measured and anchored securely to the existing foundation bolts. This creates the essential level, moisture-resistant base for all vertical studs.
- Targeted "Solid Wall" Assembly: Custom wall panels, designed as solid load-bearing structures with no window headers, are prefabricated and raised. This reinforces the dedicated storage function of the extension, maximizing usable interior wall surface.
- Existing Wall Tie-In: New framing sections are carefully tied back to the existing Dairy Queen structure. This critical step ensures seamless integration and structural continuity across the entire building footprint.
- Sheathing and Tyvek Preparation: Oriented Strand Board (OSB) sheathing is cut and applied to the exterior of the newly built frames, making them shear-wall stiff and preparing the structure for weather-resistant barrier installation.
